Maybe you do not want to figure out, or mess with OpenVPN as a cli install. OpenVPN Access Server is a nice webgui to configure and deploy OpenVPN to clients. The “free” unlicensed version only allows two clients unless you upgrade the license.

Download the OpenVPN AS deb installer:

wget http://swupdate.openvpn.org/as/openvpn-as-2.0.12-Ubuntu14.amd_64.deb

Then install it:

sudo dpkg -i openvpn-as-2.0.12-Ubuntu14.amd_64.deb

Then change the password for the openvpn user, this will be what the first client will user

sudo passwd openvpn

Now you can go to the web admin via:

Admin UI: https://YourIpAddress:943/admin Client UI: https://YourIPAddress:943/
